Fan, Traditional - Midnight bouquet, Bamboo

This fan is made of bamboo and rigid satin-finished fabric and has a pink floral design on a black background; hence the name of this fan with the dark background symbolizing the night.
Both the front and back of this fan are decorated with pink and white peonies; flower representing love, wealth and honour.

This fan is not suitable for traditional Tai-Chi practice (slamming of the weapon).
It is designed for decoration and demonstration, it can also be used in summer :)

The different parts of a fan

• The leaf (also named mount) : fabric or canvas of the fan, it is the most decorated part
• The guards : thick branches at the extremities.

This part protects the fan when it is closed

• The sticks: branches located between the 2 pieces of leaf (fabric). The visible ones are called "sticks" and those covered by the leaf are called "ribs" or "slips".
