MMA Gloves, Mitts

In mixed disciplines that combine fist boxing and where holds or throws are allowed (such as in MMA) you will need mittens, otherwise known as gloves with free fingertips. This will allow you to grab your opponent.

Also, even in traditional boxing, training is not necessarily done only with gloves. In order to shape your wrist as well as your hand well and to obtain both flexibility and power, you should also have within your boxing equipment mittens. Mittens can also be put on under the gloves and will reinforce the protection of the hand, wrist and fingers in an effective way.

Thus, compared to boxing gloves, the mittens offer much greater hand and finger mobility, and therefore greater versatility.

In addition to Taekwondo, Karate and Jiu-Jitsu specific mittens, freestyle and MMA mittens are offered with either thumb protection or free thumb, thus allowing greater freedom of movement.
