Katana Shirasaya Fudoshin, Hishigata - Sharpened

The Katana is a Japanese sword used by the samurai.
A Shirasaya is a derivative of the Katana: the weapon remains the same, but a Shirasaya has no guard.
Thus, this weapon is not recommended for combat because of the lack of protection in case of blows to the guard.

This Shirasaya is called "Full Tang" which means that the blade runs the full length of the handle as one solid continuous piece.
This weapon has a sharpened blade, a varnished natural wood handle (Tsuka), a golden habaki and a beautiful varnished natural wood scabbard (Saya) with a black rhombus.
In Japanese culture, these insignia, called "mon" or "kamon" in Japanese, were the crests of the different families and their presence on the weapons allowed the samurai to recognize each other on the battlefield.

"Hishigata" means "rhombus" in japanese.
