This sword was forged by LK Chen, a forge that specializes in the recreation of ancient Chinese weapons featuring authentic dimensions, weight, balance and handling.

The Striking Eagle sword:

Striking Eagle is the longest double-handed Chu Jian (148 cm) that LK Chen Forge produces. This is a sword for masters and is for the discerning sword collector looking to add one of the longest swords ever forged by the Chinese civilization to their collection.

This sword is based on specimens of Chu Jian swords that are over 2,000 years old, discovered between 1950 and 1980 in tombs of the ancient Kingdom of Chu dating from 315 to 221 BC.
The Chu Kingdom was famous throughout China for its steel swords. For this sword, LK Chen Forge has replicated the length of the longest Chu Jian ever excavated in China, discovered in 1983 in the tomb of King Zhao Mo (D. 122 BC).

The blade is made of Damascus steel (laminated steel) in 1060 Carbon steel (Medium / High carbon steel) reinforced with tungsten-vanadium T8 (anti-rust property). The medium carbon steel is a good compromise between the rigidity and flexibility of the blade. The blade does not break easily but still has sufficient hardness for cutting.

Despite this extraordinary length, the blade is agile and light and has a subtle blend of flexibility and stiffness to absorb impact and for thrusting and striking.  A master sword.

The fitting, finishing and final assembly of the sword is meticulously done by the experienced master craftsmen of LK Chen Forge. It takes a professional craftsman a full day to assemble a sword of this type with precision.
