Han Jian sword - Soaring Sky, Forge LK Chen

LK Chen Forge:

LK Chen Forge is specialized in reproducing ancient Chinese weapons with the respect of size, weight, balance and authentic handling.
All LK Chen weapons are designed for cutting work.
The adjustment, finishing and final assembly of the sword is meticulously done by the experienced master craftsmen of LK Chen Forge..

It takes a professional craftsman a full day to accurately assemble a sword of this type.
Each of their products is handcrafted with mastery, experience and passion.

This sword is based on a rare antique sample of a Jian from the early Han Dynasty.

Soaring Sky represents a bridge between the 8-sided Chu Jian blade and the 4-sided Han Jian blade. It even cuts bamboo easily.
Soaring Sky has the beautiful eight-sided cross section inherited from Chu Jian with the long (90 cm) and thin profile of a classic Han Jian.
Eight-sided Han Jians are rare and are usually found in the tombs of royalty and high officials.

These brass fittings are of industrial quality precision.
The guard is classic Han Dynasty with a smooth, subtly serrated surface.
The spindle has a rhomboidal cross section for precise alignment of the cutting edge.
It is surrounded by a brown braided waxed cotton cord and finished with a prominent pommel with a beautiful cloud-like relief, based on authentic antiquity.

Its thin and slender scabbard is typical of the ancient Han style.
The beautiful pattern of the scabbard is composed of a two-tone orange band with a piece of red fabric, holding the ornament resembling a curved belt buckle, which enhances the whole and gives it aspects of nobility.
The belt buckle of the scabbard has a harvest grain pattern and the bouterolle as a geometric pattern.

This sword comes with its storage box and a Damask imitation silk cover with gold pompom cord closure. So that you can preserve it for years to come, we recommend that you bring a blade maintenance kit, a sharpening stone and a carrying case.
