This Broadsword was forged by LK Chen, a forge that specializes in the recreation of ancient Chinese weapons featuring authentic dimensions, weight, balance and handling.

LK Chen weapons are all designed for cutting purpose. You can train cutting with rice straw mats or bamboo targets.

The Silver Swallow Broadsword:

Broadsword with a slender, curved blade in an elegantly designed sheath.

The Silver Swallow is a tribute to a long tradition of long Chinese Broadswords, which began in the Ming Dynasty and ends with the Miao Dao martial arts sabers of the 20th century.
The broadsword's dimensions are as close as possible to those of the Da Dao of the early Ming dynasty and the long broadswords of the Qing dynasty's green army.

Silver Swallow is suitable for military type exercises as documented in Ming Dynasty Broadsword manuals, but also for 20th century Miao Dao exercises.

This broadsword is suitable for two-handed wielding.

The thick spine cross section and smooth long handle follows the tradition of 20th century Miao Dao.

The fitting, finishing and final assembly of the sword is meticulously done by the experienced master craftsmen of LK Chen Forge. It takes a professional craftsman a full day to assemble a broadsword of this type with precision.

• The Spring steel gives this sword great vibrations for Taiji practice
• The blade is sharper at the front and is less sharp near the guard for more effective blocking.
