Katana Ryū No Atama (龍の頭), Unsharpened
The Katana, an emblematic weapon of Japanese culture, is much more than just a sharp blade. It embodies a harmonious fusion of art, tradition and functionality.
Each element of this extraordinary piece tells a story, reflecting the depth of Japanese tradition and artistic ingenuity.
Red coral (Sango): Red coral is often associated with protection against evil and the prevention of accidents. It is also considered a symbol of longevity.
The Damascus steel blade, fashioned with extraordinary precision, is adorned with patterns of unprecedented finesse. The monks, engraved in detail, appear to be in meditation, representing the quest for wisdom and enlightenment. Alongside them, delicate fans evoke the grace and beauty of traditional Japanese art, while dragons, symbols of power and good fortune, dance majestically, lending this blade a dynamic energy.
The imitation ivory handle is a sculptural masterpiece. The scales feel real to the touch, evoking the protection offered by the mythological Japanese dragon that adorns the guard. Intricate knotwork is finely engraved, symbolizing the connection between past and present, between warrior and weapon. Every detail is a tribute to the exquisite craftsmanship of Japan.
The guard, in sparkling gold, features a Japanese mythological dog, faithful guardian of temples and symbol of protection. His eyes are inlaid with red gemstones, representing passion and courage. Its paws seem ready to defend its wearer, while its benevolent gaze inspires confidence.
