Katana Shirasaya Fudoshin, Zatoichi Maru Red - Sharped

This Shirasaya katana is carefully forged by hand, and has a sharp Hamon carbon-based steel blade, made traditionally (cut line).
This type of katana has a straight cut and has no hilt. This is what marks their specificity.

The blade is rigid and very sharp, in addition to being straight.

• Grooved blade: Maru hard steel hand forged and sharpened (1045 steel grade: hard steel with 0.45% carbon)
• Blade length (with Habaki): 72 cm / (without Habaki): 70 cm
• Blade width: 3 cm
• Blade thickness (at thickest): 0.6 cm

The handle (Tsuka) is red wood, similar to the saya.

Maintenance advice: We advise you to clean your blade after each training session, or each month without use. In order to protect the blade, we invite you to clean it and apply a light coat of oil to prevent rust/oxidation.
