Wingchun pole (Dragon pole) in lacquered merbau wood. The merbau is a tropical species of the Fabaceae family. It is reddish-brown in color, quite heavily grained, with good mechanical strength (class D hardness). This wood is used in the West mainly in the construction of parquet floors. It is resistant to termites. Wood sanded and polished, lacquered.

On this model the pole is twisted.

You can straighten it by yourself using the following technique:

• Screw the pole vertically to a ceiling (in a humid place for a better result).
• Then add a screw to the bottom of the pole and hang a heavy stone on it.
• Let gravity do the work  for a few weeks and the pole will become straight.
