Why buy a Yoga/Pilates mat?

Doing yoga with a mat improves the yogi's grip, stability and comfort when performing the postures, especially when they are done with another part of the body than the feet on the floor.

Practical advice:

  • NEVER stick your mat to the floor with double-sided tape. The foam will stick to the tape if it is too strong and if it is not strong, it will not hold the mat anyway. All yoga mats are already non-slip (standards require it) so if it still slips, change the work surface rather than the mat. This will save you time and money.
  • To clean your carpet, use white vinegar. Essential oils are also effective, lavender even having a relaxing effect, it could become your best friend during your hatha yoga training, helping you to adapt a light and calm breathing. Otherwise, the spray reference 40224 will be perfect, as always!
  • Yoga mats should be changed after about 3-5 years of regular use because of their biodegradable material.
  • If you slip a little on your yoga mat after 15 minutes of dynamic yoga, you are sweating it is normal. Take liquid chalk as for example our reference 43698. After such a session, a cleaning will be necessary with or without chalk so you might as well not hurt yourself by slipping, right?
  • Your carpet is still a little rolled up? Moisten your mat with a clean cloth that you have put in the microwave just before so that it is warm. Turn the rug over and place books on each corner for 1 night. This should help.

How do you roll up your rug properly?

  • Your rug has a top and a bottom. If both sides of your rug are the same, determine which side will be the top and mark it with a marker.
  • Place your mat on the floor with the top facing up.
  • Fold the mat in half. You will now see only the bottom: the side you are practicing on is completely covered.
  • Start rolling up the mat from the middle. The ends are the last to be rolled up. Don't flatten the middle completely, but leave some space.
  • Roll up the mat completely and tie your mat normally or store it in the bag.

Use without shoes. This mat is not recommended for intensive courses, but rather for Pilates, yoga, soft gym.
