Before each cutting session, we recommend soaking the mat in water. This essential step softens the straw and prepares the mat for more realistic and secure cuts. The density of the braided mat is designed to mimic that of a human limb. To increase strength and simulate the presence of bone, the mat is often wrapped around a section of bamboo.
