The brief history of jiujitsu

For jiujitsu, the story is similar to that of judo. Indeed, both practitioners, judoka & jiujitsuka, use the same uniform called judogi.
In fact, this similarity in dress is explained by the fact that jiujitsu, and later Brazilian jiujitsu, is a derivative of traditional judo and karate.

The uniform is not the only thing that Jiujitsu has in common with its precursor disciplines: the practice is too.
Jiujitsu combines throwing techniques, keys, kicks & punches.
In contrast, Brazilian jiujitsu is more focused on ground fighting, lock techniques, opponent submission chokes and throws but does not include kicks & punches as traditional jiujitsu does.
